Beavers

Last week at Beavers, we went to Blacklands Farm, which do a lot of activities for cubs/guides/ school etc. We were doing the low ropes! What fun we had....

Basically all the ropes are no higher than 50cm off the ground so you are not likely to break anything should you fall!

Was great for getting rid of all the excess energy boys have and the really enjoyed themselves to boot.

My eldest son,O, did not want me to get any photos of him....but I managed to sneak one or two...

The Diva was suffering with a temperature under a blanket on the side. I had  given her some medicine and told her to stay under the blanket while we did this....I figured the fresh air would probably benefit her. She was off school the next day as it was still high but by supper-time it was back down to normal

We love the summer months before they break up! Apart from Hayfever which the while family gets, we do lots of outdoor activities.

First fair of the year!

I was due to do a local school fair on Saturday, as you can see when I laid all my bits out on Thursday it still needed a lot of things making!

All was well by Saturday though and this is my stall.

We were put in a carpark area which was a veritable sun trap! With no cover I was sweltering...it is no wonder I generally do not do summer fairs! People paseed through the carpark on their way in and out of the fair but overall did not actual stop to look at the stalls so it was a bit of a waste of time too. However, this was VERY local, being around the corner from where I live and was only £10 ( which I did make back!) so was worth a try.

I think I may give them one more go if they do a Christmas fair and it is all inside! Depending on the dates obviously.

10 Things

This week A has come to me with more of his cars that either are so old and the paint is all coming off, so flimsy and lightweight (from the 99p shop!) or hee just does not want anymore....

And that solves my 10 things for this week!

More lovely flowers.

I think I must have randomly purchased some Iris bulbs over the last couple of years and simply chucked them into the flower bed....They are very pretty though.

Also, the lovely but very straggly looking Rose  that we have going up the fence to the side of our garden....Our neighbours hate it but I cannot bring myself to cut it down totally. I did trim it back quite drastically last year but it seems to have a life of its own this year.

10 things

Will have to get into gear and upload the couple of pics I took of the birthday cake at the weekend and the party. Needless to say O had a lovely time. However.....
Ooooo....Middle son, A, seems to be attacking his car collection to make space...this is a road in a wheel that he got about 3 years ago from a Father Christmas that came to my Husband work Christmas party.

A a few glass tealight holders that I really cannot do much with....not overly fond of the colours at all so these are ready to go to the charity shop.

Face painting!

Although these started out as big brown splodges on Hubbies wrists, they turned out to be quite good monkeys painted on by the little Diva! I particularly like the one on the left....that was the first one that she did.

Then she insisted that I paint a rainbow on her face!

As you can see by the warm jumpers...it may technically be Summer, but the weather needs reminding of this!

Fairy pictures

I have always loved Mary Cecily Barkers Flower Fairies and decided to paint some frames to put some pictures in...

I simply used some Ikea small wooden picture frames and painted them over with white emulsion. After 2 coats they were fine and I could take a couple of fairy pictures out of the book and put them in the frames. I think they are gorgeous and hope that they will sell, I have left them at the garden center for the week to see!
