Beavers

Last week at Beavers, we went to Blacklands Farm, which do a lot of activities for cubs/guides/ school etc. We were doing the low ropes! What fun we had....

Basically all the ropes are no higher than 50cm off the ground so you are not likely to break anything should you fall!

Was great for getting rid of all the excess energy boys have and the really enjoyed themselves to boot.

My eldest son,O, did not want me to get any photos of him....but I managed to sneak one or two...

The Diva was suffering with a temperature under a blanket on the side. I had  given her some medicine and told her to stay under the blanket while we did this....I figured the fresh air would probably benefit her. She was off school the next day as it was still high but by supper-time it was back down to normal

We love the summer months before they break up! Apart from Hayfever which the while family gets, we do lots of outdoor activities.

First fair of the year!

I was due to do a local school fair on Saturday, as you can see when I laid all my bits out on Thursday it still needed a lot of things making!

All was well by Saturday though and this is my stall.

We were put in a carpark area which was a veritable sun trap! With no cover I was sweltering...it is no wonder I generally do not do summer fairs! People paseed through the carpark on their way in and out of the fair but overall did not actual stop to look at the stalls so it was a bit of a waste of time too. However, this was VERY local, being around the corner from where I live and was only £10 ( which I did make back!) so was worth a try.

I think I may give them one more go if they do a Christmas fair and it is all inside! Depending on the dates obviously.

10 Things

This week A has come to me with more of his cars that either are so old and the paint is all coming off, so flimsy and lightweight (from the 99p shop!) or hee just does not want anymore....

And that solves my 10 things for this week!

More lovely flowers.

I think I must have randomly purchased some Iris bulbs over the last couple of years and simply chucked them into the flower bed....They are very pretty though.

Also, the lovely but very straggly looking Rose  that we have going up the fence to the side of our garden....Our neighbours hate it but I cannot bring myself to cut it down totally. I did trim it back quite drastically last year but it seems to have a life of its own this year.

10 things

Will have to get into gear and upload the couple of pics I took of the birthday cake at the weekend and the party. Needless to say O had a lovely time. However.....
Ooooo....Middle son, A, seems to be attacking his car collection to make space...this is a road in a wheel that he got about 3 years ago from a Father Christmas that came to my Husband work Christmas party.

A a few glass tealight holders that I really cannot do much with....not overly fond of the colours at all so these are ready to go to the charity shop.

Face painting!

Although these started out as big brown splodges on Hubbies wrists, they turned out to be quite good monkeys painted on by the little Diva! I particularly like the one on the left....that was the first one that she did.

Then she insisted that I paint a rainbow on her face!

As you can see by the warm jumpers...it may technically be Summer, but the weather needs reminding of this!

Fairy pictures

I have always loved Mary Cecily Barkers Flower Fairies and decided to paint some frames to put some pictures in...

I simply used some Ikea small wooden picture frames and painted them over with white emulsion. After 2 coats they were fine and I could take a couple of fairy pictures out of the book and put them in the frames. I think they are gorgeous and hope that they will sell, I have left them at the garden center for the week to see!

10 things to go.....

and I am still working on my 10 things a week New Years commitment. I seem to be getting rid of so much and yet there is still so much stuff everywhere!!!

This is a very random selection of bits that I have found and that middle son,A, came to me with. It is always noce to get the kids involved and it means that the toy car collection in our house is slowly becoming more managable!

New stock!

This is not my stock but it is so different that I felt I should show it off!

The lady that supplies this is from South Africa, where apparently this is sold on every street corner. She made friends with one of the sellers when she lived out there and decided to go into business with him importing and selling these lovely beaded animals.....apparently she sells out of the larger cockerels and life size sheep!!!

Birthday Season.

It is that time of year again, My eldest son O is going to be 9 on Sunday this week and the Diva is going to be 5 early July...

O  has sent out 6 invites and we are planning on doing a garden party and he wants to play football lots too. He has requested hotdogs and burgers for lunch and a big chocolate cake covered in sweets....Will post something later this week or on Monday to show how this went!

Also, the Diva caused such a show that I agreed to do her invites already too.....another back garden birthday party...it is why we brought the house.....the huge garden!!! They have had all of their parties at home so far, no complaints, I think we are pretty lucky with our kids. Everyone else seems to have the whole class and go somewhere, eg. bowling, have an entertainer etc. but I looked into how much it is for an entertainer and it is from £150 to £250 for a party!!!!!!! I simply told the kids that we cannot justify that expense on the entertainment when I generally make a bit of a fool of myself doing it.

More Fathers Day....

Every time that I go to the garden Center they have sold out of my Pint glasses....

So, I have done a few more to restock and will have to do even more I think to take on Thursday when I have also been asked to cover....the shelf does not look full still and we still have just about  3 weeks till our Fathers Day on the June 21st!
Will have to see if they have sold anymore over this last weekend...

Half Term Fun!

We decided to take the kids on a surprise trip back to Funland on Hayling Island over the half term week. It is only an hour and a half drive to get there so it worked perfectly! They were sooooo excited when we told them as they never stop talking about the place.

As you can see by this photo O was a little embarrassed by this ride.....maybe he found it a little babyish for a big 8 year old.
The others enjoyed it though!

The Diva was desperate to have a go on the aeroplanes, although hers did not actually go up and down as they are supposed to!

She also found another mad young girl and the pair of them stayed on this ride for 3 turns and never stopped spinning their teacup around!!!! I felt quite ill just watching.

The Diva and A enjoyed this rather gentle ride, although it still made me feel yucky as I simply cannot stand anything that goes around.

We were so lucky this year as the Diva was above the required height for a lot of the rides and insisted that she did not need us to go on them with her!!!! Even the rollercoasters she went on her own. The weather was ok but not great.....what can you do though....we do live in England.

New Smoothie

I have found a new smoothie that I am a little hooked on at the moment....a green one!
It has a large handful of spinach, 1 banana, half can of pineapple in own juice, half can on mango and a cup of water...

I cannot believe how scrummy it is! When I showed the kids the first time I made it I said that it was Green Smoothie for pudding and they all went yuckkk.
However, when they tried it they loved it too.

It gets 4 of my 5 a day in as well in one swoop. I cannot eat that much spinach on its own so it is a great way to get some iron into me.Yum Yum....me thinks me needs to trawl the web to look for more smoothie ideas!
